lilac lovin'.

I looooooove lilacs!

They smell amazing, they look amazing; they are just amazing!

So, when I heard that there was a Lilac Festival in Warkworth (just Northwest of Belleville, ON), I knew I had to check it out!

We didn't get to the festival until very close to the end of the first day - vendors were packing up -, but we were able to take a nice leisurely walk alongside the most beautiful creek that was surrounded by lush green grass, hills of trees, and some lilac bushes!

This was our first visit to Warkworth and it was an extremely short one (due to the thunderstorm that we just missed!) but I know that we will be visiting again very soon and a lot more often! Seriously, the cutest little town in a sort of valley of trees! I am in love!

And obviously I had to get some photos of myself, haha! I am the type of person who when she hears the plan, she thinks to herself, "will there be photo opportunities?" and then proceeds to get herself somewhat presentable.

I swear I am not high-maintenance (says every person is probably high-maintenance)! I just like to feel confident! And my husband won't let me take nice photos of him, so someone needs to step up to the plate, right?! Haha!

My super cute jumpsuit (I am SO in love with red!) is from Garage Clothing :)

Question: What is your favourite flower? Mine is a toss-up between Lilacs and Peonies! Oh! And I love love LOVE Ranunculus! Ugh! They are all so beautiful!

2 days til' B-Day.

In 2 days, I say farewell to 26, and I am slightly sad about it. Not only because my age changes - only people turning 16, 19, and 21 like that - but also because of all of the incredible things that have come my way this past year.

Just to list a few things:

  1. I shot my first wedding and my first elopement.
  2. I was published in the Bay of Quinte Tourism Guide - still on cloud nine from that one!
  3. I have built the greatest of friendships that I know will last a lifetime.
  4. I did two maternity sessions and got to meet both babies - seems like a strange thing to be excited about but it means a lot!
  5. I did a re-vamp of my website.
  6. I did an anniversary / family gathering shoot at the most beautiful spot in Tweed, Ontario!
  7. I went on a road-trip with my husband around PEI!
  8. My photos have been shared by brands that I love - ie. American Eagle (where you can find this BEAUTIFUL jumpsuit!), Eclipse, and My Home Apparel (a Nova Scotia company)!
  9. I have started getting into real estate photography - a secret thing that I haven't really shared!
  10. And I have come to love myself a little bit more.

There have been so many other amazing opportunities that I have been given as a 26 year old (one which I will spill in a few weeks!!). I am sad to call it quits on 26, but if 26 was this good, I cannot wait to see what 27 will be like!

Roses are Red.

Valentine's is over, but that doesn't mean we need to stop with the pink and floral outfits!

I personally love the "Valentine's style" hence why I got this shirt from H&M (and it was only $20 in-store! Apparently it is $35 online.. hmm..). I normally do not gravitate toward 'bold prints' (is this even that bold?) but something just would not let me leave the store without it - it's called my "oh that's cute" rating system.

My "oh, that's cute" rating system is when I go around a store and touch pretty much every article of clothing - texture fits into this - and I either say (literally out loud) "oh, that's cute" - or "ouu, that's cuuuute" if I really like something (the "ouu" really changes everything *she said sarcastically but not really because it does*). If I don't like something, I call it "funky", a word that I used a lot growing up to describe my Mother's clothing sense (side note: she is much better at shopping now!).

Now you know my super lame (and pointless in sharing) way of shopping. Haha!

In all seriousness though, this shirt is the bomb! My husband actually complimented it which is a very rare thing for him to do, so it's a keeper for sure. I love the bold floral print, the soft pink colour, and the structure/ fit of the shirt. I think this shirt will look good on every body!

I would love to know what you think of it! And how do you shop? Do you know what you want before you go in? Do you go in blind like me and "feel" around (haha, that sounds weird..)? Are you a try-er or just a buyer?
